The thermostat is one of the most useful parts in a motorcycle's cooling system. Its role is to trigger the fan. When the latter fails, the whole system can be confused. The temperature will therefore rise gradually. When this part is defective, it must be replaced immediately.

To reduce the chances of your engine overheating, do not leave your motorcycle exposed to direct sunlight during the summer. Try to keep it in the shade as much as possible.

Whenever you are on the road, do not leave the engine running for more than 15 minutes when you are stationary. Also check the oil level and the quality of the coolant. Do not mix different liquids, it may cause a chemical reaction.

Also check that the calorstat trips on time. This part is used to regulate the temperature of the liquid. It must not be opened too late otherwise the motor risks overheating.
